for Harbourfront Public Furniture Competition

This interactive sculpture is a laughter and conversation incubator to highlight the relationship between human dynamics and ergonomics. The motionless seesaw brings us memories of joy and laughter. It welcomes friends of all ages to interact with the form and to find a comfortable sitting position that suits their body shape and posture to relax. Laughter and conversations are the best medicine for us. It draws people together in ways that trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring our mind and body back into balance than a good laugh and conversation. The great leader Nelson Mandela once said, "The best weapon is to sit down and talk".
